I got mailed off list and tried --srate96000 which works perfectly;). Some xruns, but I need to play more before I ask.

If you like, try restarting Jack at 48000 Hz and running chuck at that rate (it is the default for chuck on Linux) and see if there are less (or more) xruns. That should halve the amount of work chuck has to do every second, and may yield better results. Best, Ge!
