The newer ChucK (1.2.0.6) is working well! One question about KBHitManager -- what does this do? I had to disable the call KBHitManager::init() in ulib_std.cpp because stopping/starting audio quickly was causing crashes (I think it was the thread sleep in kb_loop()). This is within max/msp, though, so it may not be of general interest...
