Hi, Did I read correctly that ChucK now has support for neural nets? I've been coding neural nets in the signal path and in the time loop, and my beloved ChucK is so slow that I can only do 30 neurons or so in real time. I would like to hear more about this new feature. I looked on the Unit Generators page and didn't see anything there. What's up? getting ADSR::XTime()

Hi list, I'm afraid there is a bug on the getters side of the ADSR UGen. One can set adsr::attackTime( 10::ms ) and gets adsr::attackTime() as 0.010::samp, instead of (0.010*SR)::samp. So, to be able to use adsr::attackTime() => now correctly, one should do: adsr::attackTime()*sr => now Which I don't think is the way one would expect. Chorus.modDepth broken?

Hi It seems to me that the modDepth of chorus doesn't work, depth is always very deep, it has some effect on the sound, but very subtle and not at all what I expected. Forgive me if this is common knowledge; I have not found any references in my searching... The SmirK page indicates that ChucK 1.2.1.2 is required; I have not seen this version available for download as of yet. Is there a repository somewhere? Thanks, Chris

comma is and? undocumented feature

Dear list, Consider the following; =============== if( 1 , 0) { <<<"false?">>>; } if( 1 , 1) { <<<"true?">>>; } ============= I think this isn't according to the language specs but it runs just fine. It seems that the comma equates to "&&"? it's not problematic in the slightest but it's not according to the specs either, I think, and a bit confusing. What's up here? Yours, Kas.

feature ideas

my hacking skills are too small to do this things myself, so here goes some ideas for chuck: 1) the same chuck executable being able to output on both jack and alsa would be good. 2) I think that LISA would be even better if we could load a sound file directly like we do with SndBuf. Something like: "mysoundfile.wav" => mylisaobject.read; 3) If i spork a shred that defines a public class, i can't spork it again (if i need some changes in the class design for example). Is there a way to destroy or overwrite a class definition? thanks, renato

nameless empty arrays

Dear list, //this is fine fun int[] foo() { return [1, 2, 5]; } //this isn't fun int[] bar() { return []; } ChucK and me disagree here. I'm of the opinion that "[]" is a perfectly fine array of integers (albeit of length 0) and hence correct. ChucK is of the opinion that there's a syntax error.I suppose the issue is in "[]" not having a explicid type but I said what the type was going to be up-front. In fact the only way of defining a array of length 0 seems to be this; int empty_int_array[0]; //and while we're at it float empty_float_array[0]; //etc I find that less then elegant. Yours, Kas.
