Yo All....I'm trying to download and study some of the best music out there which features granular synthesis. I haven't heard much yet beyond Iannis Xenakis, but I'd love to know what your favorites are. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting up a torrent of the same. If possible, kindly provide links to mp3 files or any other type of free downloads. I am using ChucK on an x86 based Windows8 large multitouch screen; as nothing more than a way to create a multi-voice OSC synth that I can describe to users how to install (at minimal cost) and get setup (with little expertise on their part). But Windows store apps (ARM, sandboxed - like on iOS), forces generally conspire to have you try to embed everything into a monolithic process. So: 1) The GPL licensing (SuperCollider as well as ChucK) seems to be an issue for anyone trying to host ChucK embedded into a controller process. Is this an actual problem, given that we are generally just linking in unmodified build of the sources? 2) What is going on with the future of ChucK? After tinkering around with the options for making an OSC synth to match my controller: 1) visual spaghetti code (Pd), 2) An ugly language in wide use (SuperCollider) 3) Hard (CSound) 4) Nice but not well known (ChucK). 3) Performance. I saw Ge Wang say that performance isn't a priority for ChucK, but have no idea what the practical implications are. Will there be (and do there need to be) target specific optimizations to take advantage of SIMD, and other ways of meeting performance goals, especially in the more constrained ARM environments? I haven't tried to do an ARM build of ChucK and get it installed onto Surface, but I read that you can't in general freely communicate between processes on localhost for store apps anyway (ie: OSC over UDP localhost); so that leads back to the problem hosting ChucK as an embedded library. -- http://www.youtube.com/rrr00bb http://rfieldin.appspot.com http://rrr00bb.blogspot.com

Dealing with String objects?

Hello chuckers I am looking for a reference to the 'string' object class in chuck. I am having a hard time trying to guess what methods are available for the class. I also recently came across with the StringTokenizer object but it seems to work only when the token is a white space. chuck --adc not working on osx

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to have multiple samples of different sizes looping together. I think I kind of have it but would like to be sure :) Are the voices here for that? Record does not have a voice option, so I understand that I have to explicitly tell my sample what part of it is supposed to be 'voice 1' or 'voice 2'. Also in my code, I seem to have my voice2 starting from something like 1second before its end and then loop, did I miss something ? mini audicle

Hi, I am trying to run chuck files into mini audicle under windows 7. My chuck file have absolute path and run correctly with chuck only, but nothing plays when within mini audicle. Is there documentation for the mini audicle? Steph

LiSa .track/.sync in Chuck 1.3.1.3

Apologies if this is documented somewhere, but am I right in thinking that the .track/.sync functions are currently not working in the latest version of Chuck? Anyway, put it like this... the LiSa-track example files are working fine for me in Chuck 1.2.1.3 (on Windows 7 machine), but with 1.3.1.3 I'm just getting silence. Thanks Simon

I keep getting undefined type 'netout' I tried the examples from https://chuck-dev.stanford.edu/svn/chuck/trunk/examples/net_send.ck since they are the only ones i could find with netout chuck version: 1.3.1.3 (chimera) OS: gnu/Linux Distro: Archlinux Thanks.
