Yo All....I'm trying to download and study some of the best music out there which features granular synthesis. I haven't heard much yet beyond Iannis Xenakis, but I'd love to know what your favorites are. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting up a torrent of the same. If possible, kindly provide links to mp3 files or any other type of free downloads. Mesh2D chugin: problem with setting .xpos/.ypos

Hello, I am trying to get Mesh2D into an useful thing. However, even though I assign arbitrary float values to .xpos or .ypos, they always return zero regardless of my explicit declaration. chugins won't compile

Daniel: Convolution

Hey, check out my FIR Chugin: https://github.com/ccrma/chugins/tree/master/FIR In the examples folder there's a convolution example. Not super efficient (circular buffers would be required for that), but direct from the definition. Most efficient would be FFT based. If there's no example of that. I'll make one. Standby. Enjoy!! real-time convolution in Chuck

Hi - I have a performance problem, and I wonder if anyone has already solved this. I want to do a time-domain convolution of a real time signal (generated with a MIDI controller) and an IR of a cello body (a short .wav file). TIME DOMAIN: I tried first doing it brute-force, in the time domain: (1) I pre-loaded the IR wav file (with SndBuf) into an array (truncated to N elements), and normalized the values (divided by the sum of the abs values) (2) using .last() I kept grabbing each music sample (and keeping the last N values in a circular buffer) (3) for each new music input value, I convolved the last N with the IR, and then stuffed the output into the dac (using an Impulse UGen) Surprisingly, it worked. Not surprisingly it ran out of steam with N > 50… ;-) Has anybody coded this as a Chugin, and made it work with reasonable-size IRs? FREQUENCY DOMAIN: Would this go much faster if instead of the above, I pre-computed the DFT of the IR, and then went in block fashion doing FFTs of the music, multiplying by the IR spectrum, doing the iFFT, and overlap-summation to get the time domain signal? Has anybody coded this in Chuck or as a Chugin? SC: Or is this the kind of application for which I should go with SuperCollider instead, to get the required real-time performance? Thanks, Daniel

Hello, ChucKers, I want to know if I can check whether a shred has finished running or not. For instance, lets say I run: chuck foo.ck bar.ck and bar.ck must exit immediately after foo.ck exits. chuck --probe crashes (SEGV)

Lately chuck --probe has started crashing consistently on my OSX computer. I just ran it with all midi and audio devices unplugged, and it still crashed. Any ideas? Spencer said he's working on a Yosemite fix (different from the chuck --probe issue), and I think that fix should include the fix to probe and some other issues dealt with as well.
