granular music recommendations?

Yo All....I'm trying to download and study some of the best music out there which features granular synthesis. I haven't heard much yet beyond Iannis Xenakis, but I'd love to know what your favorites are. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting up a torrent of the same. If possible, kindly provide links to mp3 files or any other type of free downloads. Command line arguments

I am entertaining an aspiration to send an arbitrary list of wav files to chuck to process, so that a user could drag and drop files into a directory, and wrap a call to chuck in a script that takes the result of ls and passes the files to chuck as command line arguments. The closest I've found on Google is this post: https://lists.cs.princeton.edu/pipermail/chuck-users/2011-January/005932.ht… much changed since then? It's not essential as I could contrive the calling script to compile a .ck file containing the wav files ahead of time and pass that to chuck, but I figured I'd check in case there are more seemly options. Amy, Judging from the C: in your post, I gather you are using Windows? If so, we had a bug with ChucK wherein it was interpreting the colon as the usual marker for arguments to a program. So it was interpreting that path as a ChucK file named "C" with an argument of all the path after the colon. Spencer made a patch for that and released it as an update. Now ChucK ignores a colon so early (meaning that we can't have single letter ChucK files, but that would be pretty goofy anyway). Make sure you have the newest version of ChucK from the download site: http://chuck.stanford.edu/release/files/exe/chuck-1.3.3.0.msi You may have to remove previous versions to do a clean install. Hi there! I took the coursera course for chuck programming and all was going well until I go to use machine.add() to make my score and all instruments concurrent. for some reason it reads [C]: no such file or directory I added my files to another computer and the same exact thing occurred. every time I add the shred and Any time I use Machine.add() in any other programs the same thing occurs even though i am using me.dir("/myfile.ck") I can't seem to make any of my files concurrent to one another because its not working. Any help is appreciated greatly!! Thanks! Amy

I am looking to implement a listener into my (very simple) ChucK program. I want to operate a bank of virtual sliders that send their position to ChucK. In what program/application can I build such a slider, and where in the ChucK API can I read up on listeners? I don't yet know my way around the documentation, though I do have the Kapur, Cook, Salazar, & Wang text which is wonderful. Thanks in advance! Philipp Blume

Yep, having that resource allocation and connection to the dac inside your infinite loop is the culprit. In fact, almost everything in that function is static initialization, so chould be moved outside the while(1) context.
