Dear all, Hello! I'm happy to announce the initial official release of Chunity (ChucK for Unity)! http://chuck.stanford.edu/chunity/ http://u3d.as/1bvM Chunity is the integration of ChucK in Unity. (For those of you not familiar with the Unity game engine, Chunity gives you the ability to do realtime sound + music generation natively in Unity, tightly coupled to interactions with graphical objects.) You can use most (possibly all?) ChucK features, run new ChucK code on-the-fly at any time, and communicate between Unity and ChucK using "global" (new keyword!) ints, floats, strings, Events, and 1D int and float arrays. (More types to come!) You can even run multiple VMs that share the same strong timing! Linux Mint JACK?? ChucK.

Hi dear Ge Wang. I am using Linux Mint, but now I doesnt know how to configure JACK for ChucK; I have the same problem in Linux SuperCollider. I know the Bash intermediate codes, but I have some problems with the configuration of JACK, I know there is a tutorial from Fernando Lopez-Lezcano but I dont follow this for some ignorance in Bash, can You provide a tutorial to follow? Recently I downloaded (Ubuntu 19.04) Chuck 1.4.0.0 and had to do Awful Things to my Jack packages in order to provide libjack.h so it would compile. So now chucK is running fine, except that it can't give me a midi port (either alsa or jack) for my keyboards to connect to. running the gomidi.ck examples I get (after one to several 'SUCCESS' messages): "(JACK) the JACK server is shutting down this client." At that point chucK has not quit, but its audio is stifled until I start it again. Aconnectgui can't find a chucK port to connect anything else to until I open a 'MidiIn', which is exactly what upsets JACK. Help?! Forrest Curo San Diego

Best way to throw an error in ChucK?

I'm writing some code something like this: class MyMidiThing { // static int stores midi channels to use 0 => static int nextChannel; // instance variable stores midi channel for object int channel; fun init() { if (nextChannel > 15) { // NO MORE MIDI CHANNELS! // PANIC! EXPLODE! ... how? } nextChannel => channel; nextChannel++; // ... go on to do stuff ... } // ... } Clearly I want to do something when there are no more MIDI channels available that stops the program and prints error info, like a stack trace. In general programming terminology, to throw an exception. I've been scanning the documentation, and maybe I'm dense, but I can't find out how to do what I want here. Suggestions? Forrest

ChucK | Users Chugins/Chubgraphs/Chugens

Hi, I've been looking at CSound recently and I was impressed by the quantity of Opcodes (Ugens) it has. I know we have official Chugins, but still it's a small collection and I'm pretty sure there are plenty of interesting ones flying around that we all use every day (even if Chubgraphs), just they've never been 'captured'. Thus, I was thinking why don't we 'capture' them somewhere :) I also know that having an official repo means maintaining everything is on there, and that requires work as well. What do you guys think about having an unofficial repo/'place on the internet' where to put some others, chubgraphs and libraries included? I think the community would benefit from this.
