Dear all, Hello! I'm happy to announce the initial official release of Chunity (ChucK for Unity)! http://chuck.stanford.edu/chunity/ http://u3d.as/1bvM Chunity is the integration of ChucK in Unity. (For those of you not familiar with the Unity game engine, Chunity gives you the ability to do realtime sound + music generation natively in Unity, tightly coupled to interactions with graphical objects.) You can use most (possibly all?) ChucK features, run new ChucK code on-the-fly at any time, and communicate between Unity and ChucK using "global" (new keyword!) ints, floats, strings, Events, and 1D int and float arrays. (More types to come!) You can even run multiple VMs that share the same strong timing! MidiFileIn class

Can anyone point me to documentation on the use of the MidiFileIn class? I know that it has member functions such as .open(), .read(), .rewind(), etc., but am looking for examples of how you would use it to read and play a MIDI file in ChucK. miniAudicle ADC not working?

Hi! I’m taking my first foray into ChucK with a little background with RTcmix, and am excited to see how many times I can accidently blow out my eardrums! I’m hoping to start up a LORK, and am wondering if ChucK would work for our situation – or at least part of the project. ADC… It works great in the terminal (MacOS Catalina). I just have a little throughput signal: adc => dac; while (true) { 100::ms => now; } In the terminal, it works great. No problems. In miniAudicle, I get nothing. The dac works in miniAudicle, but nothing is coming in through my mic (Scarlett 2i2). I hooked up a blackhole (adc => Gain g => blackhole) to monitor the adc input, but it just reports 0.0. I’ve checked my prefs, and my Scarlett is chosen. I’ve closed and reopened miniAudicle, and shut down and restarted the Virtual Machine. No ADC input. When I try to probe my devices, I get: System error: (CoreAudio unknown error) getting sample rate info… Then nada. I’ve also “allowed mic access” in Security/Privacy. Any suggestions? Is this a “Catalina breaks lots of stuff” bug? THANKS! Eddie

Mouse under Mojave+

Hi all, Has anyone had trouble, or succeeded, with using the mouse since Mojave? I suspect that it’s a permissions thing, but nothing asks if it can use the mouse. I know that Processing users have had trouble with camera permissions, so I suspect this might be similar. Odd that ChucK will open the mouse and report that it’s ok, tho. miniAudicle crashing on Windows 10

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with MiniAudicle crashing on Windows 10 when trying to play an audio sample it seems to crash immediately. I am using the most recent version of miniAudicle. Below is the code I am using but it seems to close out when trying to play any audio file. SndBuf hihat => dac; me.dir() + "/audiosamples/drums/HiHats.wav" => string hd; 0 => hihat.pos; 1.0 => hihat.rate; 1.0 => hihat.gain; hd => hihat.read; 1::second => now; No errors get a chance to print out to the console.
