Software development process has three variables - time, resources and functionality. All three can not be constant at the same time. So the lack of release date is a good sign - it shows that the plans are serious and functionality is fixed. Was the time there, resources there (which you can't add to late project anyway), quality would be variable and this would be really bad for a major release ;)


There's a third variable; the chance that Starcraft2 gets boring before the new Civilisation gets released.
