Ah! Yes, Danish always does that to me I speak (some) Dutch, English, German and Frisian and so Danish always sounds to me like i should be able to understand it, yet it stays just out of grasp. Quite a surreal feeling.
An swedish acquaintance of mine with dutch parents says that danish is very similar to dutch in ways that norwegian and swedish isn't. This is interesting, since danish, norwegian and swedish are similar to the point of being mutually understable (with a little effort for some). /Stefan
