I just tried the chuck.xml on kate, its great, thanks!!

btw, i found no ~/.kde/share/apps/katepart/syntax/
so, googling, i found out that this path is recommended in kate's site:
$KDEDIR/share/apps/katepart/syntax
"If $KDEDIR is unset look up the folder by using kde-config --prefix."
which, for me was /usr/share/apps....
highlighting is, then, set by default.
