far as parameters go, being stuck with 0-127.
that's not true.. you can combine MSB and LSB frames, for 14 bit resolution. in theory you could do more but you'd be deviating from existing implementations.
Furthermore, not every
host makes it easy to address a particular parameter of a plugin through MIDI.
sounds like a host issue, or a plugin issue, or a plugin spec issue. the host i use allows to address any plugin parameter with OSC floats, and query for addressable parameters.. Chuck supports OSC doesnt it?
