Bufsize and miniAudicle
Hello - Just downloaded and installed chuck and it's funky GUI. It's not clear how to increase the bufsize parameter from the GUI though - I've some some serious glitching at the moment. all pointers appreciated, thanks, J. -- Jim Credland jim@cernproductions.com
Hi Jim, Yikes, glitching is not good. If you're using OS X, the buffer size is unfortunately hardcoded into miniAudicle. If you're on Windows or Linux, see this post from the list archive for info on changing the buffer size in miniAudicle. https://lists.cs.princeton.edu/pipermail/chuck-users/2006-September/ 001189.html Note that we plan to release a new miniAudicle version sometime this week, which will finally allow OS X users to adjust the buffer size at runtime. So if you are using OS X we could probably forward you a preview release of this. spencer On Feb 25, 2007, at 6:28 AM, Jim Credland wrote:

Hi, Spencer! Is there a outline for when, roughly, users of other platforms can expect the interface elements to arrive? I'd like to play with those but I'm a little short on the sort of cash that a Macbook costs... That's intended purely as curiocity; I realise you guys are quite bussy. Kas.
Hey Kassen! Ive laid down the basic framework for UI element implementation for Windows/Linux users, and implemented a basic slider, so I think those can be expected soon, after I round out the collection of widgets and test everything. Probably the release after next, around 2-4 weeks after the upcoming release. Also, I realize that the last miniAudicle release was 5 months ago-- we hope in general to have a more frequent release schedule for miniAudicle. spencer On Feb 25, 2007, at 12:46 PM, Kassen wrote:

That'd be great. It's OS X - sorry hadn't pointed that out :) Drop me a note with a link when it's ready and I'll give it a shot. I really like the environment and language and whilst it's a few functions short of the stuff that's in csound some things are just far easier to implement and the language feels very natural to write in.
