Some chuck questions.

Hi Ge, I'm liking ChucK a lot thus far! These are FAQy kind of questions. You've probably seen them before. 1. There are a number of instruments described in the docs that I would like to play with, but that don't appear to be implemented yet (at least, not in the windows version). These include ModalBar, Sitar & StifKarp. Is there a definitive 'working' instrument list somewhere? Are the remainer going to be added any time soon? 3. I'm doing a lot of fancy-schmancy algorithmic score generation these days (using Python and/or KeyKit). Arrays are very helpful for accomplishing this (for scoring lists of phrases, chords, etc.). For example, I've implemented a version of Terry Riley's "In C" in KeyKit. I think it would make a nice demo to implement a single player of "In C" in ChucK (this player could then be run multiple times as different shreds, to create an ensemble). However, it's really helpful to be able to store the 53 seed phrases in arrays. A search of the examples shows no square brackets. From this can I assume there are no arrays? Are arrays coming? If not, is there a paradigmic ChucKish way of accomplishing this? - Jim Bumgardner

The complete core of STK, including all low level unit generators and higher level instruments, have been ported to ChucK (many thanks to Ari Lazier, Phil Davidson, as well as others for ideas, suggestions, and code). problem starting audio on linux

The same thing happened to me before I reinstalled my system, but a few versions back used to work fine on that system. Dear All, chuck-1.1.4.8 is released. New oscillators, examples, bug fixes, and bugs. Visual C++ under windows is now supported (see http://chuck.cs.princeton.edu/doc/build/). Additionally, we are releasing executables (osx and win32 for now, linux later), you can find links to these from the download page. no sound from sndbuf?

Hello, Just started with chuck 1.1.4.6, cygwin/win2000 and also MacOSX. I get sound fine from synth generators (larry.ck, moe.ck examples) but not from sndbuf (sndbuf.ck example). The file appears to get read, I just don't hear any output. I'm using 16/44.1 stereo wav samples from ampfea.org, e.g. > http://ampfea.org/files.php?com=i_view&type=20 sndbuf.ck --- sndbuf buf => dac; "snare.wav" => buf.read; while( true ) { 0 => buf.pos; 100::ms => now; } michael
