Hi Mohammad. The following information can be useful to you because I had a look like problem. I got the message "Press space bar to abort...". Besdides the IXA EDU workstation manual, I used two documents more to set up the workstation, the one that help me to fix the problem I refer to, can be downloaded at: http://webdiee.cem.itesm.mx/web2/comunicaciones/proyectos/otraguia.doc This guide includes a patch for the Linux host that solved the problem. I have tried to collect all the information regarding the Intel IXP1200 Network Processors, but it is in spanish. I will convert it to english soon. Hi all, I am facing problem booting the IXP1200 evaluation board in "BootMgr" prompt. When I power up the IXP board, following message comes in the terminal: " Press space bar to stop auto-boot... 2 " I press space bar several times within this countdown, but "BootMgr" deos not come, it goes to the default OS "cygmon". Actually, at the beginning this countdown value was 15 and that time I was able to boot the box in "BootMgr" prompt. Then I changed the countdown value to 2 and the default OS to "cygmon". But now I can't stop the auto-boot. Could any body please help me how can I get "BootMgr" prompt or how can I change countdown value (without going to "BootMgr"). Hi Deepak, If you are just starting on ixp1200, then it is better to start with developer workbench. It is one of the best places to start testing ur ixp skills. It provides a very good environment to write, test and debug your code. Once you are done with it, then it is pretty simple to put it on the hardware(u can even do it from developer workbench - if you are using IXP12EB). --- WRT IXA SDK 2.01 --- If u are writing programs in microcode(microengine assembly lang) then u can install Dev WB on any Win OS. If u r trying something in microengine C, then u need to install it on Win NT(2k or XP will also do). ----------------------- U don't need the IXP hardware if u r running programs in simulation mode. Hi Deepak. Hope I understand the question properly. If you are new to IXP1200 programming and doing first practices I recommend you to start on the developer's workbench. As a matter of fact you can install the developer's workbench in any computer and practice there (I mean you don't need the network processor board on your computer to run the example programs). After that you can switch to the board, but I haven't got there yet. Reading data from sdram

Hi, I am experimenting with uC_lab1 project from the SDK. When a packet is copied from the rfifo to the sdram, I want to read that packet data from the sdram address to sdram read register. Since a single sdram address contains 64 bit data and an sdram read register is 32 bit, how can I read the whole 64 bit data to sdram registers? I tried using this intrinsic: void sdram_read(__declspec(sdram_read_reg) void *data, volatile void __declspec (sdram) * address, unsigned int count, queue_t queue, sync_t sync); I can't understand how to declare the "data" parameter as the reference says it's a structure. sram shared problem with array

Hi, I'm an undergraduate student at Arizona State University working on implementing network address translation using the ucLab1 example code provided with the IXP1200. I'm having a problem when using the declaration as follows: __declspec (shared sram) nat_table table[15]. I understand this should enable the table to be seen by all other threads running on the same microengine. I have two threads running on this microengine. Thread 1 is responsible for lookup and modification of this table. Thread 2 only performs lookup on this table, however, it cannot see the contents of the table. This seems like it could be related to using an array since I use the shared sram keywords on other unsigned ints and it works. Any help would be appreciated on this problem. Thanks, Jason
