Hi, Excellent Nawaz, I am happy that atleast one person has done it before. Erasing the chip was the first thing I tried. But it failed. There was an error message which simply said "Erase Error!". It passes the hardware test properly, so I guess there is nothing wrong in the device selection (which is "INTEL E28F800B3-B"). I am able to read from the device into buffer without any problem. I have tried with the front and back chips with the same result. Please can you tell me where I could be going wrong. Thank you, Regards, Sandeep. -----Original Message----- From: owner-ixp1200@CS.Princeton.EDU [mailto:owner-ixp1200@CS.Princeton.EDU]On Behalf Of Sarfraz Nawaz Sent: Saturday, June 15, 2002 7:13 AM To: ixp1200@CS.Princeton.EDU Subject: Re: [ixp1200] Problem with programming the flash I've the same equipment as yours and I've used it to program the flash a number of times. You have to first erase it and then write it.

I am using flash burner equipment called Topmax which is from the company EEtools. Inspite of following the instructions as mentioned in the manual I am unable to write to the flash. Read from flash is successful, but writes are not happening. Have any of you faced a similar problem? Do I need to take some extra steps before writes are allowed? The device continuously makes attempts to write but in the end is unable to write anything.
Regards, Sandeep.
