But, if we need to use the HW feature of the IXP2400 (example GbE - From 1GbE (IXP1200) to 2.5GbE (IXP2400)), we need a lot of changes on the code itself, is it right? No, you'll have to rewrite the code. The assembler is different. Close to
ixp1200 put different.
As I said previously, I have not ported a code from ixp1200 to ixp2000 so I
can't tell about the extent of needed modifications.
