Nope, can't confirm. It works as expected on this latest vanilla chuck
(alsa build) on my linuxbox:

$ uname -a
Linux Wilmer 2.6.17-12-generic #2 SMP Wed Aug 29 20:08:20 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

Try some other version, too.
