Problem solved: I have a Oxygen8, which DOES require a driver for OS
X. For the curious, the driver can be found under the "Legacy"
category on the m-audio site:
http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support.drivers&f=848
Downloaded, installed, rebooted. chuck --probe now all happy.
