I don't know about this error in particular, looks weird, but if you add 
the Planet CCRMA repositories to your Fedora 16 install you should be 
able to just "yum install chuck"... "/usr/bin/chuck-alsa" will be the 
ALSA enabled binary, "/usr/bin/chuck" will need Jack to run.
