[ixp1200] Tornado 2.0 does not display value entered by user

Hi all,
   I am writing a program to get some value from user via tornado 2.0 shell 
console. The value is received by scanf. But, I found that the value entered 
by users could not be displayed on the console. However, the value received 
by the program is correct.
   Any suggestion how can I make the value visible on the console screen?
