Hi folks,

Adam Bull is here for two weeks and will be giving the Wilks Statistics Seminar on Monday. His talk is on reinforcement learning and also gives nice solutions to global optimization.
Should be very interesting.

=== Wilks Statistics Seminar ===

DATE:   Monday, May 6

TIME:   12:30pm

LOCATION:   Sherrerd Hall 101

SPEAKER:   Adam Bull, Cambridge University

TITLE:   Adaptive-treed Bandits

ABSTRACT: Multi-armed bandits are one of the fundamental problems in reinforcement learning, and
are currently of interest in online services and arti cial intelligence. In this talk, I review
recent work on problems where the number of arms is large or in nite, and present new
algorithms which achieve near-optimal rates of regret without prior information.
