[parsec-users] General build failure

Oh -- BTW, I am trying to build on an Intel duo core machine running  
under Suse Linux.  Here's what I get from uname -a (given that my  
machine is named "beacon"):

Linux beacon 2.6.25.20-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2008-12-12 20:30:38 +0100 i686  
i686 i386 GNU/Linux
