Hi Mahmood,

Yeah, it's for "preloading".

You can find the meaning by looking at the "dedup.c" file
    case 'p':
      conf->preloading = 1;

Best Regards,

Subject: [parsec-users] about dedup command line options

What does '-p' mean in dedup options:

run_args="-c -p -f -t ${NTHREADS} -i media.dat -o output.dat.ddp"

The usage show nothing:

PARSEC Benchmark Suite Version 2.1
usage: ./dedup [-cusfh] [-w gzip/bzip2/none] [-i file/hostname] [-o file/hostname] [-b block_size_in_KB] [-t number_of_threads]
-c compress
-u uncompress
-s send output to the receiver
-f put output into a file
-w compress/uncompress technique: gzip/bzip2/none
-i file the input file/src host
-o file the output file/dst host
-b block_size_in_KB specify the block size in KB, default=32KB
-t number of threads per stage
-h help

Is that "preloading"??
