*Call for Tutorials*

CIKM 2016 will host tutorials covering topics in the general area of
information and knowledge management. The tutorials will be part of the
main conference technical program.

We invite proposals for tutorials from active researchers and experienced
teachers. Ideally, a tutorial will cover the state-of-the-art in research,
development and applications in a specific information and knowledge
management related area, and stimulate and facilitate future work. Tutorials on
interdisciplinary directions, novel and fast growing directions, and
significant applications are encouraged. Since the theme of CIKM 2016 (
cikm2016.org) is “frontiers and applications of big data science”, we
particularly encourage tutorial proposals on all the relevant topics to CIKM
2016, especially those emerging topics of “big data” and interdisciplinary
application areas such as social computing, Internet of things, and
biomedical and health information technologies, to help make the conference
more relevant and appealing to both academia and industry.

*Proposals*

Each tutorial should be about 3 hours in length.

A tutorial proposal should be formatted in the following sections.

   - Title of the tutorial
   - 300 Words abstract (1-2 paragraphs suitable for inclusion in
   conference registration materials)
   - Outline of the tutorial. Enough material should be included to provide
a sense of both the scope of material to be covered and the depth to which
it will be covered. Note that the tutorial instructors should not focus
exclusively on their own research results. A CIKM tutorial is not meant
to be a forum for promoting one’s research or product.
   - Prerequisite knowledge of audience
   - Relevant references that would support proposal evaluation
   - Tutorial history (previous offerings of tutorial, if any)
   - A list of the most important references that will be covered in the
   tutorial
   - Short biographical sketches of the tutorial speaker(s)
   - Any specific audio/video/computer requirements for the tutorial
   - Contact information (including name, affiliation, mailing address, and
   e-mail address)
   - (Optional) URLs of the slides/notes of the previous tutorials given by
   the authors.

Proposals should be received by 30th May, 2016. Please submit by email to:
