There is a Debian package for chuck [1] though admittedly, it's a little dated (ver 1.2.0.8). The included patches for 64-bit are suspect [2] which isn't too surprising since the upstream chuck sources aren't 64-bit clean and it seems difficult to get upstream enthusiasm to fix this. -Steve [1] http://packages.debian.org/source/stable/chuck [2] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=562809

Not that I know of. We do have a offer from the Pure:dyne people ( http://puredyne.goto10.org/ ) that they could host a package but they don't have the resources to maintain it. I'd like to try to give creating a package a go but my time too is limited. I'd like to try and there would be some support from them to get started but I really can't promise I'll have time for this before the second half of next month as I also have a exhibition to prepare for. I don't think we could get a package into Debian proper because Debian wants tried, proven, stable things which roughly translates to "not us". Yours, Kas.
Kas,
It's funny you mention pure:dyne, because that's exactly the distro I wanted
it for! Let's get in touch with them. I would be happy to maintain the
package, but I've never done it before, so I'm a total n00b. I think that
if we could just make sure that the latest Chuck and miniAudicle were
included in their next release, we'd have a good thing going on. I'm very
impressed with Carrot & Coriander.
Thoughts?
