In this talk, we will propose a new approach for localizing visual tags in images. Instead of optimizing a detector to locate a tag with a static pattern, this approach involves the simultaneous optimization of both the detector and the pattern of the visual tag. We will show how this joint learning leads to increased localization accuracy when compared to only training the detector and using a selection of standard non-optimized tags, such as QR codes.
