granular music recommendations?

Yo All....I'm trying to download and study some of the best music out there which features granular synthesis. I haven't heard much yet beyond Iannis Xenakis, but I'd love to know what your favorites are. Perhaps it would be worthwhile putting up a torrent of the same. If possible, kindly provide links to mp3 files or any other type of free downloads. Scale & diatonic

I have made a program, scale.ck, that admits one to work with scales, including tuning stretch, céleste tremulant, retune them, and then save to a file, with a line of code that can be pasted back into the source, available at next program startup. Scale tunings can be put into tuning banks, and otherwise defined by your favorite method. Details in the file. I have also updated my program for diatonic tuning systems, diatonic.ck. feedback loop

Hi chuckers, I've just tried to reproduce something I've done some time ago with guitar pedals : a feedback loop. input -> mixer -> delay -[wet]-> various effects -> back to the mixer `--> dekay -[dry]-> output by controling the amount of feedback on the mixer and the parameters of the effects in the loop you can create funny things. Now, for the ChucK part (not exactly the same, but quite similar) : ---- class MyDelay extends Delay { 1::second => max; } // feedback loop MyDelay d => JCRev r => Gain g => d; d => dac; fun void note() { SawOsc osc => Envelope e => d; 250 => osc.freq; 1 => e.value; e.keyOff(); 200::ms => e.duration => now; } 0.8 => g.gain; 0.2 => r.mix; 200::ms => d.delay; note(); 10::second => now; ---- with these parameters I get a positive feedback: sound is getting louder and louder, clipping and then silence. Using d.last(), I see the samples computed get outside the range [-1;+1] (thus the clipping) and then divert from 0 exponentially. To avoid this, I would like to truncate the sample values so they stay in the interval [-1;+1] : if s > 1 then s = 1, if s < -1 s = -1 I tried to use Dyno as a limiter, but it seems to do something more clever than that. ChucK Runtime Error

Good Morning/Afternooon/Evening! I am writing this e-mail to see if any windows users have come across the same problem I have with miniAudicle at the moment. The problem is whenever I try to add a shred to the VM it just comes up with the "miniAudicle.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" error message. I've tried changing a few settings (increasing buffer size, putting the log level on "none") but nothing seems to work! Hope someone has come across this problem before and knows what to do, and if you want some more info on the matter feel free to ask, I'd be more than willing to provide if it means i can finally start programming! NetIn and NetOut

Hey all, What's the current state of NetIn and NetOut? Are they deprecated? I tried using NetOut on a recent build of ChucK and received an "undefined type 'netout'" message. I saw a mention of this problem in the mailing lists a while ago but I couldn't find any resolution on the matter. If these functions have been eliminated, have any been added in their place? I just wanted to play around with live streaming and figured "netout" was the way to go. Thanks, Matt

No devices found for compiled API's

Hi there, I am trying to run Chuck on Ubuntu 11.04 64 bit. When no input file is specified the standard "no input files" message appears. When trying to run an example I get the message :"[chuck]: (via rtaudio): no devices found for compiled audio APIs!". I've taken a look at the rtAudio.cpp file but can't make any useful deductions. I definitely do have a sound device and have successfully used portaudio on the same machine - Any help would be greatly appreciated! Regards, Raymond
