turn off midi clock on osx

Hello, I am using ChucK to send MIDI to a MeeBlip micro http://meeblip.com/use-one/assembly-guides-legacy-models/micro-kit-assembly/ through some cheap MIDI-over-USB device which uses a generic driver on OSX. Unfortunately the MeeBlip can't handle incoming MIDI clock/timing data and it seems to be receiving such even though I'm not sending any via ChucK. Is there a way to disable MIDI clock in ChucK, or in OSX, or both? Thank you, michael

Apparently, the non-random bug does not happen after declaration of all STK instruments, just some of them: BlowBotl, BlowHole, Clarinet, Flute, Saxofony, StifKarp, VoicForm And the problem occurs with both Std.rand2 and Std.rand2f (I haven't conducted any more tests yet to see under what other conditions it might happen.) david > Forgive me if this was already discussed on the list before. minor bug when saving an example with "save as"

Hi. I'm new to ChucK and love it but I would like to report what I think is a minor bug. I'm on a Mac running OSX 10.8.5. miniAudicle "about" reports: version 1.3.0 (gidora) Copyright (c) Spencer Salazar ChucK: version 1.3.2.0 (chimera) 64-bit Copyright (c) Ge Wang and Perry Cook http://chuck.cs.princeton.edu/ Bug report: Note: this is clearly low priority and minor, more in the category of an annoyance. I opened an example then saved it with "save as." Then I edited it then tried to save the changes. A dialog reported the file was read only. I checked the file with info and the file has Read & Write permission. I can overwrite it with "Save As" but Save refuses to save. I suspect that the example was read only and it kept that attribute in some file state variable. If true this is wrong in two ways, first it should have updated the local state to match what it wrote and second it should not depend on historical information. Even if the file was read-only when opened that may have changed. This is a multitasking system and some other task (me in finder for example) might have changed the permissions since the file was opened. I believe the correct behavior would have been to attempt to write the file and check the error status of the write. Best regards and thanks for a wonderful tool. -Steve Morris aka zencuke

Smith did using his own personal CryBaby Pedal. WvOut2 bit depths

hey, i'm wanting to use WvOut2 to write 24bit or higher sound files, but am not finding a way to do it, though the documentation says it is possible. well, it seems to write Matlab files to high bit depths, so if anyone knows how to convert those to wav or air, that would also get me where i need to be. any ideas? thanks! dan

In anticipation of a number of ChucK-based computer music education initiatives (the forthcoming book "Programming for Musicians and Digital Artists" and Coursera course of the same name), we have added a number of conspicuously absent features and libraries, alongside cleaning up a large number of The most significant change is to formally release chuck as an installer package on Mac OS X and Windows platforms. These installer packages include chuck, miniAudicle, related example files, and the standard set of chugins. (Separate installation of these components is possible but discouraged and not necessarily supported.) Linux, for the time being, is still released as separate source distributions. SerialIO will allow ChucK programmers to easily interact with serial-based hardware devices such as Arduino. A number of string processing utilities have been added. Furthermore, the clear.vm command will enable more dynamic on-the-fly development with public classes. In miniAudicle, the underlying application core on Windows/Linux has been completely rewritten in Qt, greatly improving stability and overall experience.
