I'm trying to get around using ixstart and ixstop and do port/uengine initialization manually. My motivation for doing so is to avoid having to use ixsys.config's ambiguous initialization directives and have a bit better control over which engines get which uof and get a better grasp on which me-to-me rings I can use, how I initialize/allocate them. I figured dredging through ixconfig's source code would be the best place to start but its covered in crosscalls and I really don't want to deal with all that. Is there no simple function call to say "give port 0 mac address ..." or "put port 0 in promiscious mode" and the many other things that need to be done to get a port ready for a ueng to use it. I'd also like to use the supplied ingress microcode, slightly modified, without the provided core component but will need to discover what values to patch the .import_vars to from the ingress code. I've looked through that a little today and it seems to be about as friendly as dealing with crosscalls. hi, Does anyone try to run simulation of L2L3NAT_8_1Gig_hw project provided by SDK2.01 vol.II? I found that when running this project under simulation mode, SDRAM initialization error will occur. uDbg Library Wrappers for linux...

Ive looked but I can't find wrappers for the uDbg calls into the ue driver---i.e., I can't find a file akin to SA1_CoreLibs/uelib/ueng_lib.c that wraps the ioctl's responsible for the uEng library calls. Does a similar file for the uDbg calls not exist? (Im implementing an interactive debugger that's why Im asking). Problem running IXP1200 VERA apps

Hi, Thanks to some help from this group, I managed to build the IXP1200 applications for Vera. I also built and ran the Hello World test program. Now I have a problem running the IPmm and PktGen applications. When I invoke 'sgo ipmm.srec', the output on the board's serial port stops abruptly. rtm trie structure!

When I try running rs_udebug on an ENP-2505 board, it fails with the following error: Device lo is down. Device lo is down. Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to send; errno = No buffer space available unable to register (SA1200TARGET, SA1200VERSION, udp). The ue.o, pciDg-arm.o and pciDgNet-arm.o modules are loaded. pay attention to descriptor format: a PETH driver is built with RFC1812 uses a newer descriptor format but the reference design use the older packet descriptor. You need to remove -DRFC1812 from the peth/Makefile to set the PETH to older descriptor format. ...
